Sponsor a Student

Why?

We want to make the Steepest Descent Meeting more diverse and accessible to students and early career scientists who lack the funding to attend the meeting.

Your donation would be used to help students who register early and request a need for financial assistance to attend the Steepest Descent meeting. Based on the donations, we will sponsor students to attend the April 14, 2024 meeting using a lottery system from those registered and requesting financial need. 

We will announce the number of students sponsored and send a follow-up thank you to donors after the meeting. Please note that your donation is not tax deductible and, in the case of too few student registrations, funds will be saved to sponsor students in the following year.
